The purpose of this action item is to make appointments to the Park Commission and <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br />2. Background. <br /> <br />a. Parks Commission. The Parks Commission is made up of seven regular members who serve <br />three-year terms. In addition, the Commission can have alternate members. The Park Commission is <br />currently one position short of the seven-member committee. <br /> <br />b. Planning Commission. The Planning Commission is made up of seven regular members who <br />serve a three-year term. In addition, the Commission can have alternate members. The Planning <br />Commission is currently full for the committee. There are no current alternate positions. <br /> <br />3. New Applicants. <br />a. Michael Huddy has applied to join the Park Commission. Mr. Huddy has prior experience as an <br />Orono Park Commissioner. <br /> <br />b. Ted Schultze has applied to join the Planning Commission. Mr. Schultze has been a resident of <br />Orono for over 30 years and has interest in the long-term planning for the community. <br /> <br />4. Interviews. The City Council conducted interviews for the applicants at the April 24, 2023 work <br />session. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to adopt the Resolution No. 7367 for Park Commission and Resolution No. 7368 for the Planning <br />Commission <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
