it <br />CITY of ORONO <br />RFSOLLTION 06 THE <br />3 CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTLYG <br />A VARIANCE TO <br />,N1UYICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.03, SUBDIVISION 9 (B) <br />FILE #1824 <br />WHEREAS, Eric and Shelly Liljequist (hereinafter "the applicants") are owners <br />of the property located at 3490 Birch Lane within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and <br />legally described as follows: <br />Lot 2, Block 1, Baldur Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"). <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a variance to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.03, Subdivision 9 (R) to permit the construction of a 24'x:4' detached <br />garage to be located 15' from the street line instead of 30' as required. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File /1824. <br />2. The prop:rty is located in the LR -1C Zoning District requiring 'A acre in area. <br />The property consists of 13,894 s.f. or .32 acres. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on May 17, 1993, and <br />recommended approval of the variance as proposed based on the following <br />findings: <br />A. The limited right-of-way of Birch Lane at 20' and the substandard <br />setbacks of structures of the older residential development has created <br />unique ingress and egress problems. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
