The fire <br />service costs are proposed to increase from $162,761 to $174,155. This is an increase of <br />$11,394 or 7.0% over 199^. The largest part of this increase (3.69%) is for a pension <br />contribution increase of $6,000. When the pension contribution is factored out the net <br />increase is $5,394 or 3.31%. Orono’s share of the $l 1,394 increase is $8,390. <br />The most significant budget item increases include recognition, training, protective gear, <br />chemicals, equipment and repairs. These increases total $3,600 or 2.21%. <br />The Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department continually strives to provide high quality <br />service that is responsive to the City of Orono in the most cost effective way possible.
