Members volunteered 321 hours to plan deportment operations and trainings,
direct the Relief Association and plan fundraising events.
The second quarter provided many exceOent training activities, including the MN Stale Fire School in St. Paul, a multi-de|wtmcnt auto accident, veliiclc fire,
auto extrication and medical exercise outside Maple Plain that simulated a multi-car pfle-up on Hwy. 12 under foggy conditions. Fust Responder Refresher
classes, and Accountability training. Two members have also started the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class. Foam training was taught
by an outside instructor utilizing our new utility truck (U-11) as a training tool.
Volunteer acUvities included station clean-up, compartment labeling, preparing the new utility for service, preparation and testing of the new physical ability
test, equipment testing, installation of a sound system in the fire house, preparing E-12 for lank repain and painting, medical stan<% at Schumann
elementary and Buckhom Days, a Teambuilding exercise at Camp Diduhapi, Memorial Day activities, Robert Benson's funeral, a pool fill and the
dedication of WoIsTetd Cabin in Medina.
The number of caUs were up from the first quarter, 79 calb required 1,032 hours from department members. Mutual aid was both given (to Wayzata for a
fire) and received (from Hamel for a house fire).
Looking to the third quarter should give the members a little break with some Monday evenings with no activity planned in order for firefighlcra
to spend some time with fanrUy and friends during the Minnesota summer. The department is planning to take the Studebaker, and possibly the new
utility truck (U-l I), to three parades in July; Delano's Fourth of July Parade, Hamel's Rodeo Parade and the Watertown Fire Muster Parade. These ore
good opportunities for the members to enjoy some comeraderie. show olTour equipment and build relaationships with surrounding communities
and their fire departments.
-
