The BWSR will continue
to work with the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District board of managers to
affect the changes identified in the two reports.
The District has initiated changes in the past year and half. Cities have been
generally satisfied with the current direction of the District and have had
greater opportunity for input than prior to the first report. The BWSR sees this
increase in communication as a significant step forward in addressing the
issues identified in the first report.
It is our intent to assist the District whenever possible to foster better working
relationships with its stakeholders. Ultimately, however, the success of the
District will be determined by the shared commitment of the District, county,
cities and townships to identify a common vision of the District’s role in water
and land resource management, designate responsibility, and create a system
accountability to ensure the vision is achieved.
Please feel free to contact Doug Snyder of my staff at 651-215-1520 should
you wish to discuss this matter further.
Sincerely,
Ronald D.
