Met Council @ 651-602-1078 or Lori Frekot at the Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency @ 651-296-8762 to verify this.
Alternatives For those households that cannot install mounds( le. would need holding
tanks) or don ’t want to, I have attached material from Jim Anderson at the U of M.
I believe this is the information people wanted at the pubhc hearings last Stimmer, and
the final design and regulatory criteria will be finalized in 2000. My imderstanding is
that these systems can be used in an add-on fashion without necessarily creating an
entire new septic system (The costs hsted in the table are for entire new systems).
Again, the issue in Webber Hills and Orono in general is the high water table and the
need for a reasonable separation between waste water and groimd water.
However, I feel the need to make the same offer that the letter dated 5-1 did. If you
carmot attend the meeting, and would like me to represent your position on keeping
private septic systems, please fill in the space below and return to me. Thanks for taking
the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Please represent me at the hearing in favor of private septic systems, I will not be
attending:
Name, Address, Date
Return to: Dave Williams 2055 Webber Hills Road 476-1093
