(.932 acres) _____ <br />Application: The applicant is requesting side yard setback, lakeshore setback and hardcover <br />variances in the 0'-75' and 75' -250’ setbacks to allow an existing residence that is located entirely <br />outside of the allowed building envelope to be remodeled. The following variances are required: <br />1. A side yard variance to allow the garage to be 5' from the east property line and the <br />kitchen 8.96' from the east property line where 30’ is required. <br />2. A lakeshore setback variance to allow the kitchen addition to be 27' from the lakeshore <br />where the existing house is 27' from the lakeshore and 75* is required. <br />3. A lakeshore setback variance to allow the office/library addition over the existing patio <br />whic is 42' from the lakeshore where 75' is required. <br />4. A hardcover variance in the 0'-75' setback to iillow 16.6% hardcover where 17.38% is <br />existing and none is allowed. A hardcover varianc in the 75'-250' setback to allow 30% <br />where 35.4% is existing and 25% is allowed. <br />A conditional use permit is required to change the driveway approach to the garage because 33 <br />cubic yards of fill are required to raise the driveway through an area that is below the floodplain <br />elevation. No net change will occur in volume. <br />Staff Recommendation to Planning Commission: To recommend approval of the requested <br />variances. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: On a 5-0 vote to approve the requested <br />variances. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: To amend or adopt the enclosed resolution.
