Dr. Mich stated that the Board should be aware that the calendar is <br />based on the premise that the legislation requiring three <br />instructional days beyond that which occurred in the 1996-97 school <br />year will be repealed and in the event that the legislation is not <br />repealed or other changes are made by virtue of legislative action, <br />an amended calendar will be proposed to the Board of Education at <br />that time. Dr. Mich also informed the Board that the calendar <br />complies with the 184 teacher work days as per contract and our <br />practice of having 175 student days. Dr. Mich answered questions <br />from the Board as well as the audience for clarification purposes. <br />Motion carried. <br />Dr. Mich presented the 2000 Series Policies/Procedures <br />(Organization of the School District) and the 4000 Series <br />Policies/Procedures (Personnel) for first readings. He stated that <br />the review/revisions for both series have been completed by Vice <br />Chairman Jack Veach, Mr. Neal Lawson and Ms. Evy Zacher. The 2000 <br />and 4000 series will be returned for approval at the J^ril 19, 1999 <br />Board meeting and should Board members have questions regarding <br />revisions to the either of these series, they should contact Neal <br />Lawson or Evy Zacher prior to the next meeting. <br />UPON MOTION by Martha Van de Ven, seconded by Jack Veach, the <br />meeting was adjourned. Motion carried. The Board held a workshop <br />session on long-range planning following the Board meet=’ig. <br />Maresh, Chair
