COUNCIL MEETING <br />M4r 1 0 1999 <br />Cll Y Uh UhO/VU <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 <br />HELD ON APRIL 5, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Orono Independent <br />School District No. 278 was held on Monday, J^ril 5, 1999. <br />Present: John Maresh <br />Jack Veach <br />Absent: Dave McKown <br />Peg Swanson <br />Martha Van de Ven <br />Thomas Mich <br />Neal Lawson <br />Board member Dick Lewis arrived while the meeting was in progress. <br />UPON MOTION by Martha Van de Ven, seconded by Jack Veach the <br />consent agenda was approved as follows: <br />approved the minutes of the February 8, 1999 regular <br />meeting; <br />approved '*he minutes of the February 22, 1999 regular <br />meeting; <br />- approved the request of Dennis B. Lebakken, Orono High <br />School teacher, for a three year leave of absence <br />beginning with the 1999-2000 school year; <br />- accepted the resignation of Bob Doetsch, Schumann <br />Elementary teacher, effective at the end of the 1998-99 <br />school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Garry Fries as a custodian <br />at Orono Middle School effective March 29, 1999; <br />- approved the appointment of Shawn Glover as a part-time <br />custodian at Orono High School effective March 29, 1999; <br />- approved the Treasurer's Reports for October, November <br />and December, 1998; <br />- approved an extended field trip to Madrid, Spain, June <br />11 - 20, 1999; <br />- approved the bills as covered by vouchers 108737 through <br />109160 and office checks as covered by vouchers 6490 <br />through 6527. <br />Motion carried. Board member Lewis absent.
