Following is a brief description of the licensing process <br />according to the City Code: <br />1. <br />2. <br />Application is submitted upon forms prescribed by the City. <br />Payment of initial investigation fee and one-half of the annual license fee. <br />A.Initial investigation fee $ 500.00 <br />B.Annual On Sale Liquor License $4,000.00 <br />C.Annual Sunday Liquor License $ 200.00 <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br />Review of information submitted, including insurance requirements. <br />Background investigation by Orono Police Department. <br />Within 30 days of the police report and recommendation, a public hearing must be <br />scheduled and notice published to provide an opportunity for public comment. <br />At the close of the public hearing. Council may either grant or deny the liquor license <br />application. If granted, the required information will be submitted to the State for <br />final approval. <br />Upon receipt of the remaining fees due, the City will issue the On Sale and Sunday <br />Liquor License for the balance of 1999. <br />Private golf clubs generally obtain a "Club" liquor license. However, a club license requires the <br />private golf club to be in existence for a minimum of three years. The Spring Hill Golf Club will <br />not meet this requirement until January 21, 2000. To enable the clubhouse restaurant to offer liquor <br />during 1999, the Spring Hill Golf Club has applied for an on sale liquor license. <br />i
