COUNCIL MEETING <br />M&R 2 2 1999 <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />cn Y Oh OHUNO <br />DATE: March 18, 1999 <br />ITEM NO: <br />Department Approval: <br />Name RonMoorsc <br />Title Cit>’ Administrator <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />City Administrator's <br />Report <br />Item Description: Resolution Authoriung the Taking of Land through the Eminent Domain <br />Process for Easement Purposes for Access to the Saga Hill Park Area <br />The City Council at its February 22, 1999 meeting, directed the staff to take all necessary actions <br />to acquire easements needed for the Saga Hill Park area access drive by March 20, 1999, Staff has <br />been working with the property owners but has not completed the easement acquisition process. <br />Although staff is optimistic regarding successfully negotiating the acquisition, because the March <br />19 date has been reached, staff is requesting authorization to acquire the easement needed from the <br />Fairview Covenant Church through the eminent domain process. A resolution providing this <br />authorization is attached for Council consideration. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution authorizing the taking of land through the eminent domain process for <br />easement purposes for access to the Saga Hill Park area.
