SEVEN WAGS:-21 HE <br />NEl/4, Section L, T117N, R23W <br />Hennepin County (Figure 71) <br />21 Hff <br />The Seven Flegs ere& Hes been repotted to be e loc&cion of pest Aneticen <br />Indian habitation and burial, and is considered by some to be a sacred <br />property. Archaeological and social-anthropological investigation of the <br />site ar*- being conducted under the auspices of the University of <br />Minnesota, Duluth, in order to assess the effeccs of the proposed <br />reconstruction vlthin alternate Segment B. <br />STTE 93-S-lQ. MAPLE PLAIN DUMP SITE <br />NUl/4, SWl/4, SWl/4, Section 24, T118N, R24V <br />Hennepin County (Figure 71) <br />An historic dump associated with the city of Maple Plaiti was Identified <br />through surface reconnaissance during Septenber 1993. The duap is located <br />in a ravine truncated by the existing T.H. 12 roadway, and contains <br />historic debris dating froa the mid nineteenth to early twentieth <br />centuries. The Maple Flair. Mounds were also Identified at this location. <br />Representative samples of the earlier period artifacts were collected. <br />The southernmost portion contains the oldest ceramics, Including brown <br />transfer print, sponge and spatter decorated, flow blue printed, and <br />annular decorated whitewares. Several bottle fragments with pencils, and <br />hand finished necks were also recovered. The Maple Plain Dump Sice was <br />identified wichln a small ravine feature that is situated Immediately west <br />of Site 93-5-16. This ravine was napped relative to the mounds on 27 <br />October 1993. This historic archaeological site will be affected by <br />reconstruction proposed under Segment J. <br />STTE 93-S-ll. TQM TAKE SITE. 21 HE <br />SWl/4, SEl/4, Section 22, T118H, R24U <br />Hennepin County (Figure 71) <br />During a September 1993 interview with Wes Bendlckson, the current owner <br />of property located on a ridge between Too Lake and an unnamed drained <br />lake basin, reported finding a small white projectile point In a plowed <br />field southwest of his house. The reported location of this sice Is in <br />close proximity to Segment H. Further archaeological reconnaissance at <br />this location is recommended in order to fully document Che reported site <br />limits In relation to the currently proposed construction limits. <br />SITE 93-5-12.
