ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 18,1999 <br />c <br />(#2531 Roger and Elizabeth Olsen, Continued) <br />eliminated. <br />Olsen stated that a portion of the patio has been removed along with elimination of one of the <br />porches and the concrete dog run. • <br />Motion by Smith, second by Lindquist, to recommend approval of Application #2531, <br />815 Partenwood Road, renewal of variances to lakeshore setback and hardcover as <br />previously approved in Resolution No. 4004. VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(#10) #2532 HERMAN AND MARILYN CRAWFORD, 4745 NORTH SHORE DRIVE - VARIANCES, <br />8:43 p.m. • 8:47 p.m. <br />The Certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted. <br />Hehnan and Marilyn Crawford, Applicants, were present. <br />Bottenbdm stated the Applicants are requesting variances to the rear yard setback and <br />hardcoverTOkpermit construction of an attached garage to the existing residence. The attached <br />garage woulobe located three feet from the rear yard setback where 30 feet is required and for <br />hardcover in th^5-250 ’ setback where 26 percent exists, 29.08 percent is proposed, and where <br />25 percent is allow^d^^he existing garage will be removed when the new one is constructed. <br />Bottenberg stated the existing driveway will continue to come off County Road 19, but the garage <br />door will face east. The existing gravel/driveway will remain and will be used as a tum-around. <br />The Applicant is proposing to construct the garage in this location in order to preserve a number <br />of very mature trees located on hisiot. <br />\ <br />N <br />The Applicants had no comment regarding their application. <br />\ <br />\.Hawn inquired whether the existing garage was included in the hardcover numbers. <br />\s <br />Bottenberg stated the existing garage is included in the hardcover numbers. <br />V <br />Smith inquired whether the deck will be replaced or whether^a new deck is being added along the <br />garage. '' <br />Herman Crawford stated that the size of the deck is being reduced.N <br />V <br />Kluth questioned whether the gravel driveway was included in the hardcover numt«c>s. <br />Bottenberg stated that fhe driveway was included in the hardcover calculation..^ <br />There were no public comments regarding this application. <br />Smith noted that the hardcover for this property would increase slightly with this proposal.. <br />Nygard inquired whether the plastic underlayment would be removed. <br />Bottenberg stated there is a small section where some plastic underlayment will be removed, whl^ . <br />\ <br />Page 12
