• • ft • <br />f-. <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 18,2000 <br />car. <br />Anderst stated the amount of retail space has not changed. <br />Johnson stated the issue of parking is offset by the fact that the other businesses are closed <br />during <br />his peak hours of operation. <br />Weinberger indicated there are 90 parking spaces available in the municipal lot, which does not <br />take into account parking available on the street. <br />Johnson stated there is a large parking area available in comparison to the size of the <br />establishment, and in his view the parking should not present a problem. <br />Stoddard suggested a stipulation be placed on the number of customers who can be inside the <br />facility in order to limit the amount of traffic in the area. <br />Anderst stated his business is relatively small compared to some of the oiher businesses in the <br />area. <br />Lindquist pointed out the work on the building has already been completed and that the <br />Applicant needs to operate his business within the law. Lindquist stated he is unsure where the <br />additional parking would come from if the Applicant were required to provide additional <br />parking. <br />Kluth inquired how the work could have been commenced prior to the conditional use permit <br />being issued. <br />Anderst stated he applied for a liquor license, and contained within the liquor license was the <br />additional square footage. <br />Johnson stated the liquor license contained langu age notifying the City that he would be <br />leasing 2,000 square feet, with an option to expand to 3,000 square ti^el, as well as a footprint <br />PAGE 29
