* • <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 18,2000 <br />unloading of band equipment occur at the rear entrance of the building to avoid blocking of any <br />traffic areas. Staff is recommending that the interior design of the building take into <br />consideration the noise that is generated by the live music from within the building. Weinberger <br />noted the hours of operation for the live entertainment have not been provided, with the normal <br />hours for the tavern use until 1:00 a.m. <br />City Staff is recommending approval of the conditional use permit and site plan approval for <br />The Narrow's Saloon based on the following conditions: <br />I. All improvements are subject to fire code standards. <br />2. Use of the building shall be limited to the hours as established by the Planning Commission <br />and Council. <br />3. Noise shall be held to a level as to not be in violation of the Noise Ordinance. <br />A. A two-door system shall be used to not allow excessive noise when customer are entering <br />or exiting the building. <br />5. The sale of intoxicating liquor requires the business have a valid liquor license with Ae <br />City of Orono. <br />6. Any other conditions the Planning Commission requires of the live entertainment use of <br />the property. <br />Peter Johnson, Attomey-at-Law, indicated that the Applicant’s lunch business is not very well <br />developed and should not create any parking problems in the area. Johnson stated they are <br />planning a double door on the rear door and will comply with the noise ordinance. <br />There were no public comments concerning this application. <br />Hawn noted one resident did express some concerns regarding the noise from the tavern at <br />the last meeting and some safety issues relating to the traffic.
