The pond would have <br />approximately 16,000 s.f of surface area. Maximum depth is proposed at 5 feet. Slope would be <br />a 10; 1 ratio. The wetland would be come a wildlife habitat pond with water and a nesting island in <br />the middle. The fill will be used to form berms on the left and right sides of the driveway along <br />Watertown Road and a berm south of the pond. <br />A permit was granted by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. The City engineer recommends <br />approval md staff feels the proposed land alteration will result in a positive improvement and <br />provide a higher quality wetland for wildlife and storm water management functions. <br />1. Section 10.55, Subd. 8: Development Restricted; Prohibition. Code does not allow land <br />alterations within designated wetlands without first seeking variance approval. <br />2.
