LAFAYETTE CLUB <br />City of Minnetonka Beach, <br />County of Hennepin <br />State of Minnesota <br />Resolution Year: 2000 Resolution <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Governors of the <br />Lafayette Club. Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota, was held on the 15* day of August, 2000. The <br />following members were present; Kathleen Coppo (President), Craig Moleski (Vice-President), <br />Eric Paulson (Treasurer), Kathryn Swenson (Secretary), Board Members John Lundquist, Roger <br />Dchring, Peter Lanpher, Jan Ingwalson, Andrew Greenshields, Ron Meshbesher, Pat Kittler and <br />John Gabos. Staff members: Scott Bremer (General Manager), Carl Rhame (Controller) and <br />Gale Menger (Executive Administrative Assistant). <br />Board member Greenshields introduced the following resolution and moved its’ adoption by the <br />Board of Governors. <br />WHEREAS, the Dakota Rail Railroad runs through the heart of Minnetonka Beach and <br />boundaries of Lafayette Club and <br />WHEREAS, Lafayette Club has been advised of the intent to convert the interim use of the <br />Dakota Rail corridor to a regional recreational trail, and <br />WHEREAS, the conversion of the rail corridor to a regional recreational trail would adversely <br />impact Lafayette Club as well as its members, and <br />WHEREAS, Lafayette Club additionally questions the need for this multimillion-dollar public <br />expenditure when two nearly identical length east-west trails exist within five miles of proposed <br />trail, and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin Parks has indicated that only if the cities and its’ citizens along the rail <br />corridor arc supportive of the conversion would Hennepin Parks support the conversion of the <br />Dakota Rail corridor to a regional recreational trail, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lafayette Club does not support the <br />conversion of the Dakota Rail corridor in Miruietonka Beach to a regional recreational trail and is <br />unalterably opposed to the conversion of the rail corridor to a regional recreational trail in <br />Minnctonla Beach, in which this Club is located. <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Board member John <br />Gabos and upon the vote being taken, the following voted in favor of the motion; Kathleen <br />Coppo, Kathryn Swenson, Eric Paulson, Craig Moleski, Andy Greenshields, John Lundquist, Ron <br />Meshbesher, Roger Dehring, John Gabos, Jan Ingwalson, John Lundquist. The following vot''d <br />against or abstained; NONE. <br />Whereupon, the resolution was duly passed unanimously by its’ voting Members of the Board of <br />Governors and was adopted this 1 5*^ day of August. <br />Q OW^evO <br />Gale R.
