This is an increase of $11,980 or 6.9% over the <br />year 2000 budget. The main cause of the increase is an increase in the contribution toward the <br />firefighter pension plan from $28,000 to $34,000. Based on the cost allocation formula, Orono’s <br />share of the operating budget is $134,632. <br />Equipment Replacement Schedule <br />The equipment replacement schedule includes the replacement of a tanker truck in 2001 at a cost of <br />$110,000. Orono’s share of this cost is $77,000. Orono currently has a balance of $104,000 in its <br />Long Lake Fire Equipment Replacement account. <br />Recommendation <br />The Long Lake Fire Commission approved the proposed 2001 operating budget and the proposed <br />replacement of the tanker truck. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the proposed 2001 Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department budget, and the <br />replacement of the tanker truck in 2001 at a cost of $110,000 ($77,000-0rono ’s share).
