Kerber
Staff Recommendations:
etback variance
To approve the variance to re ocate th garage 72.9' from the north property line where I 00' i
required based on the follow·ng findings made in the Review of Hardship:
•The location of the septic tanks and drainfield restrict the property from allowin
construction o a po e barn behind the house. South of the drainfield the property drops off
and · s very low the water table and drainage would be a concern. This would also require
extensive regrading and construction of a very long driveway to e rear of the propert .
•Using the existing drive for access to the pole barn would be the preferred alternative. This
d es require the removal of a two stall garage which has recently been renovated · ith a new
roof. To relocate the shed elsewhere on the property would not be practical as the garage
would r main wi ac.cess to the driveway and out of the septic areas.
•The entire east hal of the prop rty cannot be developed b cause it is a designat d wetland.
O rs· zed accessory structur variance
To deny the vananc to permit a 2 00 s.f. pole barn to be con tructed on the property subject to th
findin
•A hardship mu. t be demonstr ed to requ re the larger building ·The hardship appears · o be
the prop rty owners need for additional storage space.
