Gappa <br />Title Director of Public Services <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Public Services Report <br />Item Description: Highway 12 Lift Station Easement <br />We have obtained an easement for the Highway 12 bypass lift station from Washington Scientific <br />Industries. This lift station is located, on the northeast comer of the property, at the intersection <br />of the Orono/Long Lake Sewer and the MCES Maple Plain Force Main. This lift station will <br />provide additional sewer capacity to serve this area by diverting 200 gallons per minute of flow <br />from the Orono/Long Lake sewer into the Maple Plain Force Main. <br />The easement area required is 12,800 square feet at the standard easement cost of $1.00 per <br />.square foot. This large area is required to provide access to the lift station from the existing <br />Washington Scientific driveway on Highway 12. The installation of a separate driveway off <br />Highway 12 is not feasible because off the steep highway embankment. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the Washington Scientific Industries easement for the Highway 12 Bypass Lift <br />Station at a cost of Si.00 per square foot for a total cost of $12,800. <br />k r.* t 11
