The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to accept a donation to the City. <br /> <br />2. Background. The Crime Prevention fund is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. <br />The Crime Prevention Fund works hard to fund educational events and programs designed to inform <br />people about safety & preparedness, school programs taught by police officers to include DARE, <br />Supports the Orono PD Explorer program and safety messages for youth and seniors. The Crime <br />Prevention Fund primarily works through local law enforcement. Our current agencies are; the <br />Minnetrista Public Safety Department serving the cities of Minnetrista and St. Bonifacius, and the Orono <br />Police Department serving the cities of Orono, Spring Park, Minnetonka Beach, and Mound. <br /> <br />3. Donation Received. Staff Recommendation.
