TO: Mayor Council <br />FROM: Ron Olson, Finance Director DATE: December 2, 2022 <br /> SUBJECT: 2023 Fee Schedule <br />Attachments: <br />A.2023 Proposed Fee Schedule <br />Staff has been working on updates to the current fee schedule and has presented them to the Budget Committee. <br />Proposed Changes by section are: <br />Planning and Zoning <br />•Application Fees - An increase of the base application fee from $325 to $375. This change is based on the updated analysis of time and expenditures <br />related to processing an application. <br />•Minimum Cost Permits ($50) – Increase to $55.00 to reflect increasing labor costs. <br />•Other Zoning Permits – Increase 10% to cover increased labor costs. <br />•Plan Re-review Fee – New fee based on Building Official recommendation up to the cost of the original plan review fee. <br />License Fee and Misc <br />•Canoe Rack Rental – Fee is increasing from $40 to $45. <br />•Rental License will increase to $120. <br />Utility Rates and Fees <br />•Municipal Connection Permit – The water and sewer connection permits have been increased to $150 which covers the permit fee and one <br />inspection. The Inspection Fee has been renamed to “Additional Inspection”. <br />•Sewer Projects – Connection fees were updated by the interest rate of outstanding assessments. <br />•Connection to Water/Sewer in Adjacent City Utility – These amounts are set to the current Long Lake or Wayzata fees and will be updated when the <br />2023 information is received. <br />•Based on current projections in the updated rate study, staff is recommending an increase of 2% for Water, Sewer, and Storm. Based on the Waste <br />Management contract, Recycling should increase 4%.
