ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 18,1999 <br />(#2530 William Wear, Continued) <br />compliance. <br />Lindquist stated he would like to table this application to allow the Applicant time to submit a <br />revised plan, and that he would not be opposed to total signage in the amount of 380 square feet. <br />City Council Member Kelley suggested that the Planning Commission take into consideration what <br />they would like to see for signage along the old Highway 12 corridor as well as the new Highway 12 <br />corridor, along with lighting and building materials. Kelley stated that most of these guidelines were <br />established with the understanding that Highway 12 would remain in its present location and that <br />these issues now need to be reviewed. <br />Motion by Lindquist, second by Smith, to table Application #2530, 2160 Wayzata Boulevard, <br />to allow the Applicant time to submit a revised signage plan for the entire property. <br />VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />w) i#ta8P^iwp owowo RgvisieffTwtPUP <br />The certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted. <br />There wer^^ public comments regarding this application. <br />Hawn stated du^to the amount of information involved with this revision to the ordinance, in her <br />opinion discussiono^is issue would be better suited to a work session. Hawn requested that <br />the appropriate notice^ given to the general public regarding this ordinance revision. <br />Motion by Hawn, second’by^luth, to table Application #2537, City of Orono Revision to <br />Adult Use Ordinance to a Plaqping Commission work session to be scheduled this evening. <br />VOTE: Ayes 7, Nays 0. <br />(#9) #2531 ROGER AND ELIZABETH^^N, 815 PARTENWOOD ROAD • RENEWAL <br />VARIANCES, 8:34 p.m. - 8:43 p.m. <br />The Certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of PublicatT^^ere noted. <br />Roger Olsen, Applicant, was present. <br />Bottenberg stated the Applicant received variances to expan^*^d remodel the existing residence <br />to include a four-stall garage and additional living area. Variancdt^o lakeshore setback and <br />hardcover were granted on October 26,1998. The Applicant is requesting that these variances <br />be renewed. <br />Olsen stated that he is having a difficult time retaining a contractor to do thoq^rk at a reasonable <br />price, but that he would like to have the work completed within the next year. <br />Smith commented that she does not see any problems with this application. <br />There were no public comments regarding this application. <br />Kluth inquired whether the hardcover that was requested to be removed has in fact been <br />Page 11
