ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 13,1999 <br />(#23) LETTER OF INTENT TO PURCHASE SQUAD CARS <br />Moorse said the purchase of three new squad cars is in the 2000 budget. Staff likes to get out <br />a letter of intent at this time of year due to the restrictive number of vehicles being built. <br />Jabbour moved, Peterson seconded, to authorize staff to send a Letter of Intent to <br />Purchase Three 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Squad Cars to Superior Ford. VOTE: Ayes <br />5, Nays 0. <br />(*#24) APPOINT AUDITOR FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999 <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the appointment of the audit firm of <br />Malloy, Montague, Kamowski, Radosevich & Co., P.A. to perform the required audits <br />for the 1999 fiscal year records at an estimated cost of S20,160, plus direct expenses. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(•#25) 1999 INTERFUND TRANSFERS AND LOAN PAYMENTS <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the interfund loan principal and interest <br />payments to the Building Capital Outlay Fund from the 1998 Sewer Construction Fund <br />of S352,530, and from the Water Operating Fund of $56,390, effective December 1, <br />1999. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(*#26) AUTHORIZATION TO DISBURSE CITY FUNDS FOR CLAIMS RECEIVED <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, to authorize the City Treasurer to disburse City <br />funds in payment of claims received for the December 27th Council meeting, which has <br />been canceled, and that such paid claims be presented for formal approval at the <br />January 10,2000 Council meeting. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(*#27) CHANGES IN UTILITY BILLING LATE FEE POLICY <br />Peterson moved, Kelley seconded, to amend the penalty for late payment of utility bills <br />from - 15% after 45 days from the billing date (applied only to the current quarter) to - <br />8% after 30 days from the billing date (applied to the total unpaid balance); and to <br />include this change in the ordinance adopting the City*s Fee Schedule for 2000 and <br />Summary Ordinance for publication. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(#28) 2000 MEETING SCHEDULE <br />Flint questioned having a City Council meeting on February 14th. <br />Peterson moved, Jabbour seconded, to approve the 2000 schedule as presented.
