r <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT <br />THE CITY OF ORONO WILL RETAIN JURISDICTION OVER <br />INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEM (ISTS) REGULATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has adopted regulations for the design, location, <br />construction, use and maintenance of Individual Sewage Treatment Systems (ISTS); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has an established permitting and inspection program <br />for ISTS management; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has adopted certain sections of MPC A Rules Chapter <br />7080 and is in the process of updating City codes to address recent Rule changes within Chapter <br />7080;and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County has adopted ordinances regulating ISTS in those <br />areas of the County where local municipal jurisdiction of ISTS is lacking; and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County has requested formal indication from the City that <br />Orono intends to retain jurisdiction over ISTS within the corporate boundaries of the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota, that the City of Orono will retain responsibility for and jurisdiction over ISTS within the <br />corporate boundaries of the City, and will not abandon such jurisdiction unless at least one year <br />notice is given to the County. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a regular meeting held this <br />10 ”' day of January, 2000. <br />Attest: <br />Linda S.
