Because of t:ie island locations and nature of e�:isting development in the restricted area , th� City Council here�y grants blanket etception and variance irom tne provisions of this 1ioratorium to allow iss;:aace of buildin� permits for the �ollowing work, fin�in� that such iimited exceptions would not a3versely affect the status quo, arid would there�ore not be contrary �o the intent and purpose of this Moratoriu.m: A. Building pernits �or interior remodelir.g, repair . or reno�ation of existing occupied single fa:�i�y residential structures, provided tt:ere is no increase in the floor area or bulk of said structure. B. Plumbing, mechanical or electrical repairs , replace- ments or remodeling of existing occupie3 single family residential structures. _ . Repair or replacement of any existing water well or on-site sewage treatment system, provided such system is not installed for purposes of converting any existing seasonal or uninhabitable residence or structure into a fully habitable res�_dence or structure. � SECTI0�1 6 . Restricted Area. That portion of the City of Orono that shall be subject to the restrictions of this ordinance is all the land current�y zoning LR-lA-1, which land is Iocated on Big Island, Nlahpiyata Island and Deering Island, Lake Minnetonka, legally described as follows : A. BIG ISLAND and MAHPIYATA ISLAND: All land within the corporate limits of the City of Orono lying within Sections 14-117-23, 22-117-23 and 23-117-23 , Y.ennepin County, Minnesota. B. DEERING ISLAND: All land within the coporate limits of the City of Orono lying within the NE; of the S[4�a, and the Nw� of the SE; of Section 18-117-23, Hennepin County, Minnesota. SECTZON 7 . Duration. This ordinance shall expire six months after duration with ut Council action, or it may be repealled earlier if the Council determines that the requisite studies have been completed and adopted and that appropriate evaluation and action, including any necessary revisions of the Zoning Code, have been finalized. The duration of this ordinance may be extended by adoption of a subsequent ordinance.
