Soils
encountered were topsoil, silty clay, clay and clay till.
No water waF observed. A three-bedroom house is proposed.
Percolation rates in the primary drain field area are ten
minutes per inch. At this rate, the drain field area
required is 500 square feet. At the alternate drain field
site the average rate was 16 minutes per inch requiring a
drain field area of 600 square feet. Both areas range in
altitude from two to six feet below the proposed house site.
The adjacent wetlands lies approxir^ately ten feet below the
lowest point of each drain field site.
It is recommended that a 400 gallon capacity dosing chanber,
with siphon, be installed between the septic tanks and the
distribution box. It is further recommended that the drain
field, if installed at the primary site, consist of four,
100 -foot lines spaced seven feet apart and with two -foot
trench bottom widths. All installations should comply
with the Orono Individual Sewage Disposal System Code of
`tininur; Standards.
The proposed water well location, shown on the sketch, would
be acceptable for either drain field location.
