VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission, <br />May 18, 1970 <br />The Planning Commission met on tnc above <br />date with the followint* members present: <br />Chairman Russell, Porn, Elliott, Gascii, <br />Kiillberg, and Poisson. Absent: Bartig, <br />Dongoske, Niciiolls, O'Malley, and Scliocning. <br />The application for a conditional use permit <br />to dredge and fill on Big Island was re <br />viewed. Russell stated he had seen the <br />projected project and had some reservations <br />as to recommending approval and stated that <br />all members should review the site before <br />making their recommendations. <br />Edward Packard, representing .liraself in a <br />division of Lots 1-2-3, Block \ Hillside <br />Park, Parcels 2600-2800-3000, 309 Westlake <br />Street. Members studied the proposed <br />division and asked Mr. Packard now hone.* <br />in that block were setback in relation <br />to his home, and learned they were all <br />similar. It was also noted that they were <br />ktiirough lots ajid in the interest of good <br />^planning, they would be better divided in <br />lalf even if they were a little short of <br />the one-acre requirement. <br />Elliott moved, Poisson seconded, that the <br />division be anproved. Motion, Ayes (5) - <br />Nays (0). <br />The setback variance of Allan lentgen. Lot 9, <br />Block 2, Wiley's Park, Parcel 9000, 2171 <br />Shadywood Road, was studied. In view of <br />the fact that this would be a considerable <br />encroachment--to three feet from the other <br />lot--and there was a possibility that this <br />cnc.^oachment could detract from tae value <br />of tne adjacent lot, <br />Dorn moved, Poisson seconded, that no <br />variance be granted witaout the approval <br />of the adjacent property owner, tiotion, <br />Ayes (S) - Nrtya (0). <br />Ronnie Kullbcrg's application for a conditional <br />|use permit to grade doiyn Blaine Avenue and put <br />^ill on his adjacent lot, was sttuUed. <br />Gasch moved, Elliott seconded, that tne <br />permit be allowed under condition that area <br />drainage would not be impaired. Motion, <br />Ayes (4) - Nays (0).
