ordinance no . 204 SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDIN ANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 10 OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br />BV AMENDING SECTION 10.43, SUBDIVISION 4, <br />ADDING "RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS AND FACILITIES" <br />TO THE LIST OF ALLOWED CONDITIONAL USES <br />IN THE B~l ZONING DISTRICT <br />The City Council of Orono ordains as follows: <br />Section 1. Municipal Zoning Code Chapter 10. Section 10.43, Subdivision 4 is hereby <br />amended by adding "Religious Institutions and Facilities" to the list of allowed conditional uses in <br />the B-4 Office and Professional Business District. SecUon 10.43, Subd. 4(K) is herebv added as <br />follows: <br />"K. Religious Institutions and Facilities. Religious institutions and facilities, including those <br />related structures located on the same site which are an integral pan of the religious <br />institution, con\ ents or homes for persons related to a religious function on the same site. <br />Religious institutions and facilities shall meet the standards of the B-4 District and shall <br />further meet the follovsing requirements: <br />1.All buildings shall meet a setback of 50' from lot lines abutting a residentially <br />zoned property. <br />One parking space shall be provided for each 4 seats of capacit>- in the main <br />assembly hall or sanctuary, with additional parking required per the standards <br />of the Zoning Chapter for other facilities such as classrooms, licensed daycare <br />facilities or offices when such uses will overlap with the use of the main <br />assembly hall. <br />3.If required parking is not provided on site, an off-site parking plan satisfactory <br />to the Cit> Council shall be provided. <br />Parking areas in side or rear yards shall be setback 10 feet from residentially <br />zoned property. <br />If the religious institution property abuts both a local residential street and a <br />collector or arterial roadway, the access shall be onto the collector or arterial. <br />-H
