RPUD OnUmwcc - S'* Draft January 9.2001 P«KC12 <br />In order to prox ide Tor adequate maintenance of landscaped <br />areas, on underground sprinkler system shall be provided as <br />part of each new development, except one and two family <br />dwellings and additions to existing structures which do nut at <br />least equal the floor area of the existing structure. A sprinkler <br />system shall be provided for all landscaped areas except areas <br />to be preserved in a natural state. <br />Not more than 50 percent of the required number of trees <br />shall l»e composed of one species. The City shall maintain a <br />list of prohibited species which shall not be used for <br />landscaping. <br />Ed Note: Keep a uparate schedule of prohibited species such as this: <br />No required tree shall be one of the following: <br />1) a species of the genus Ulmus (elm), except those elms bred to be immune to Dutch Elm Disease; <br />2) box elder. <br />J) II species of the genta Populous fpoplar): or <br />4) female ginko __________________________________________________________ <br />laferior Parking Lot Landscaping. <br />All parking lots containing over 150 stalls shall be designed <br />to incorporate unpaved, landscaped islands in number and <br />dimension as required by the City. All landscape islands shall <br />contain a minimum of 180 square feet. Islands which ore <br />necessary to promote the safe and eflicient flow of traflic <br />shall not be subject to the “ISO stall'* standard and sliall be <br />required by the city when warranted <br />Parking lot landscape arras, including landscape islands, shall <br />be reasonably distributed throughout the parking lot area so as <br />to break up expanses of paved areas. Parking lot landscape <br />shall be provided with deciduous shade trees.areas <br />ornamental or evergreen trees, plus ground cover, mulch <br />and/or shrubbery as determined appropriate by the Planning <br />Commission.
