City of Orono - General Land Use Application <br />Description of Request: <br />The request is being made to bring in over 501 cu. yd. of fill to 955 <br />Tonkawa Road. Since this is a steep site, it is needed to create a level <br />area in which to locate the house, provide good drainage and create <br />access to the site for motor vehicles <br />Due to the current zoning ordinances, the proposed house can not be <br />located on the level area where the previous house was located where the <br />lot is more level. A sewer easement prevents the proposed house from <br />being located behind the average distance from the shoreline of the <br />existing houses on adjacent properties (Orono Zoning Ordinance Sec. <br />10.22B). If the house were located closer to that line, it would req .’ire <br />even more fill than what is proposed. <br />The existing house shown on the survey has been removed.
