VILLAGE OP ORONO <br />R«gulmr Meeting of the Planning Comiission, <br />|Pebrtiary 17, 1971 <br />7:30 P.ri. <br />The Planning Comaission net on the above <br />date with the following nenbers present; <br />Chairnan Poisson, Butler, Elliott, Gasch, <br />Herfurth, Xuhleneier, Xullberg, Parten, and <br />Soiithworth. Absent: Dongoske and Nicholls, <br />Also present: Mayor Oberhauser, Councilmen <br />Dorn and Searlos, and Village Administrator <br />Martin. <br />The public hearing was opened for the <br />retoning of the Cowles property from <br />R-IA to R-1A*1. John Fischer represented <br />the WoodoRill Conference Center explaining <br />the background and plans, presented a petition <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Retoning P-IA to R-lA-1 <br />Wood'Rill Conference Center <br />from adjoining property owners, mans, certificate <br />of persons living within 300* of the property. <br />and scale model of the property. Bruce Dayton <br />explained the purpose of the Conference Center <br />to serve the Twin City area. The property <br />would be used by charitable, educational <br />and commercial organizations. Questions <br />were asked concerning taxes on the property <br />and total investment. After all members <br />Ipresent were afforded an opportunity to bo heard, <br />the hearing wis closed. <br />Kullberg moved. Elliott seconded, to recoiiunend <br />that the retoning be allowed. Motion, Ayes (6) - <br />Nays (2). Parten and Butler Nay. Kuhlemeier <br />abstaining. <br />George Nelson appeared concerning a complaint <br />about his keeping sheep on his property at <br />26S Brown Ro.^d South, in violation of the <br />zoning code. <br />ZONING VIOLATION <br />265 Brown Road South <br />Kullberg moved, Kuhlemeier seconded, to <br />zacomoend that Mr. Nelson apply to the <br />village Council for a variance to keep <br />his sheep, ftotion withdrawn. <br />Elliott moved, Kuhlemeier seconded, <br />wo deny Mr. Nelson’s appeal to keo <br />shoep. !lotion. Ayes (9} - Nays <br />eop <br />(0). <br />tliat <br />his <br />Herfurth moved, Kuiilemeier seconded,that the <br />Planning Commission not recommend to the <br />ipouncil that the Larson property be rezoned <br />Ks industrial now, but to go on record if <br />Mr. Larson has a buyer contingent on rezoning, <br />that the Planning Commission act quickly in <br />considering his request for the rezoning, and <br />that the Village initiate a study for a comprehensive <br />land use plan.
