VILLAGE OF OROWO <br />o <br />ilegular Meetiag of tiie Plannina Commission, <br />August 7, 1972 •7:30 P.M. <br />The Planning Commission met on tiio above <br />date with the following members present: <br />Cnairman pro tern Southworth, Gasch, Hays, <br />Kokesh, Nicliolls, Searles, and Van West. <br />Absent: Elliott, Xullberg, Poisson, and <br />Ryerse. Present from tne Park Commission: <br />Hallowell and Watson, Also present: Council <br />man Dorn, Searles left earlv. <br />Gasch moved, Southworth seconded, tiiat the <br />Minutes of the Regular ileeting of July 17, <br />1972, be approved. Motion, Ayes (7) - Ways (0), <br />MINUTES <br />Phillip Gainsley represented Xeiinetn Harter <br />in an application for a division of property <br />at 3120 North Shore Drive, He pointed out: <br />1, <br />2, <br />3, <br />4, <br />5, <br />6, <br />Tne two lots would each be near tiie zoning <br />requirement of one acre, <br />Tney would be only 75* wide instead of <br />the required 140*, <br />Tne lots are approximately 540* long, <br />Tnere is no municipal sewer at the present. <br />The Harter residence is to one side*of <br />the property, causing no iiardship to <br />anyone else building there, <br />A 1-3/4 acre lot is too hard for ir. Harter <br />to maintain as he is near retirement age. <br />Searles and Gasch were of the opinion that <br />75* lots were out of context with other <br />properties in tiie area. <br />Searles moved. Hays seconded, tliat Mr. Harter <br />obtain a written opinion from the neighbors <br />as listed on iiis application and that they <br />appear again on September 5, 1972. In <br />the interim, members study the area closer, <br />lotion. Ayes (7) - Nays (0). <br />Ronald Bower represented Bruce Dayton in an <br />application for a wetlands ordinance variance <br />for the purpose of dredging a wildlife pond <br />and depositing the soil on other sites on their <br />property. Members read the Village Engineer*s <br />report and recommendations in which he had a <br />few reservations about the depositing of the <br />soil on the low land on tne old Valerius resort, <br />Mr. Bower stated they did not wish to place any <br />soil at variance with the desires of tne <br />yillage. Van Nest had reservations about the <br />impact on any dredging of swamps stating <br />there just is not enough study done on this to <br />make a valuation of what harm results from <br />this in comparison to the value received. <br />DIVISION <br />3120 North Shore Drive <br />ORDINANCE NO. 125 VARlANCl <br />Bruce Dayton <br />(Continued)
