(.80 acres) <br />Application: <br />Tlte applicant intends to purchase the property as 3850 Shoreline Drive, which is currently operating <br />as "Bay Furniture". The applicant intends to operate a furniture store at this location and include <br />home accessories such as lamps, pictures, baskets, etc. He is concerned about the limitations of the <br />B-5 zoning district and is requesting that the City Council approve his site plan and find that the <br />proposed use is similar to the current use which was granted a finding of substantially similar use <br />in 1986. The applicant has also requested that the City consider e.xpanding the uses listed in the B-5 <br />district. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br />To approve the commercial site plan and find that the proposed use substantially similar to the <br />current use and compatible with other B-5 uses, subject to: <br />1. Applicant to provide a landscaping plan to show which plants will be trimmed, <br />removed or replaced. <br />2. Restripe the parking lot, so that each stall in 9 ’x20’, with a minimum of 12 spaces. <br />3. Applicant to work with staff to determine signage in compliance with Section 10.61. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To amend as approve the findings as recommended by the Planning Commission.
