MN 65113 <br />Mr. Timerson, <br />I spoke with you earlier this week about the possibility of expanding two existing ponds <br />located In a MN/DOT easement for use In a proposed mixed-use development near the <br />northwest quadrant of U.S. Highway 12 and Willow Drive in Orono. You responded <br />with a phone call stating that typically MN/DOT does not reach this type of agreement <br />with private developers, but would be receptive to a proposal from the City to expand <br />the ponds as long as they are designed to accommodate all drainage from surrounding <br />developrnents that may enter the ponds in question, and that maintenance and <br />construction responsibilities are transferred to the City or their representative. <br />I would just to take the time to thank you for your response and notify you that we will <br />be pursuing this issue with the City of Orono In hopes that it agrees that the use of <br />these ponds Is beneficial to the proposed development and surrounding area and will <br />take the proper steps to get MN/DOT approval for these actions.
