Issues for Consideration: <br />1. Does the Planning Commission feel the front porch and garage addition are in character with <br />the neighborhood? <br />2. Would the Planning Commission rather have the front porch be smaller and the proposed <br />garage be in line with the existing residence? <br />3. The residence to the north has a small front porch, and its attached garage is setback from the <br />front of the house. <br />4. The hardcover in the 500-1000’ setback zone is well below the allowed 35%. <br />5. The existing residence was built in 1957. <br />6. The property to the south has been vacant for many years. If and when it will be developed <br />cannot be predicted. <br />7. Other issues raised by the Planning Commission. <br />Staff Recommcndatioii: <br />If the Planning Commission concludes that the addition as proposed w ill be in character with the <br />neighborhood, and will not be detrimental to the neighborhood, and if Planning Commission also <br />concludes that there are adequate hardships present, then a recommendation for approval would <br />be appropriate. <br />Options for Action: <br />1. Recommend approval of vanances requested. <br />2. Recommend denial of variances. <br />3. 1 able, giving applicant direction. <br />4.
