This additional area will be placed in a wetland bank under the ownership of the fire station for future use or sale. An application to deposit these credits into a new wetland bank has been included at the beginning of this document. Staff from Short Elliott Hendrickson will assist with the monitoring and w ill be the authors of the required annual reports. Monitoring of the replacement area will be conducted for a minimum five-year period to evaluate the success of the mitigation area, identify maintenance and monitoring needs, and correct any identified problems. Hydrology will be monitored annually at least three times between early May and August. Shallow monitoring wells will be installed in all created basins and nearby existing wetlands to monitor changes in hydrology over the monitoring period. Wetland vegetation will be both qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated once per year during the period between July and August. Photographs documenting the changes in vegetation will also be taken at this time from fixed reference points.
