e <br />II • . ffi <br />'r4t ' • ■,-/> <br />T* <br />•V.'./Si <br />!*:■ <br />-/«• - ■?»■ if <br />Plaiming Comtission Work Session, June 2, 1975 8:15 P.M. <br />The Orono Planning Comnission met on the above date <br />with the following members present: Acting Chairman <br />Pdsek, McDonald, Dunlap, Kallestad, Curtis, VanNest; <br />Leave of absence, Gasch; Absent: Hannah, Wooley, Guthrie, <br />Hake. <br />Minutes of the previoas meeting were approved as <br />corrected (Vote on Herrick Circle request - <br />Ayes (5), Itay (0), Abstain (1), McDonald <br />MlhUTES <br />The Planning Comnission reviewed the site and elevation <br />plans which indicate a design similar to that of the <br />existing structure along with considerable improvement <br />of the site through additional planting and designated <br />parking. <br />Robert Day - <br />Industrial Warehouse <br />Addition Proposal <br />2685 Wayzata Blvd. <br />McDonald moved, Kallestad seconded to approve the proposal <br />as the proposed site improvement conform^ with the in <br />tent of the Comprehensive Guide Plan to restore and <br />maintain the natural conditions of the conininity. <br />Ayes, (6), Nay (0). <br />After previously reviewing this Study, the Planning <br />Ccnmission agreed to make the following comnents, sug <br />gestions and reconnendations: <br />EVALUATION OF HENNEPIN <br />COUNTY TRANSPORTATION <br />STUDY <br />Preservation of Lake Minnetonka is the primary underlying <br />goal of our recently adopted Coaiprehensive Guide Plan. As <br />a result the Village of Orono has established land use policies <br />that are intended to protect Lake Minnetonka from the adverse <br />effects of noor quality storm water run off. Diverting heavy <br />commiting and comnercial traffic from using roadways traversing <br />the center of Lake Minnetonka (Co. Rd. 15 6 19) is equally <br />important to the protection of Lake Minnetonka as establishing <br />the restrictive land use policies. Therefore the following <br />recomnendations are most important: <br />Orono, along with Wayzata and Minnetonka Beach might <br />consider acquiring Co. Rd. #15 for better control. <br />. * • <br />1. Should roadway improvements be withheld from lakeshores. <br />& Ml*- a ^ * AYES <br />2.
