REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JULY 28, 1980 <br />Mr, Wilbur Andersen, 3555 Frederick Street, was <br />present and conmented that the structure was <br />expanded beyond its original intended size and that <br />concrete blocks were poorly constructed. <br />Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to refer the <br />request of Cortlen Cloutier, 2480 Casco Point Road, <br />for a conditional use permit and variance to the <br />Planning Comnission for staff and Commission review. <br />Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). <br />Alan Olson, City Planner, entered into the record <br />the variance request of Jack Rhode, 1410 Bohns Point <br />Road, dated July 24, 1980, which states: <br />Planning Commission reviewed a revised plan, at their <br />July 21, 1980 meeting, as instructed by the Council <br />on June 30, 1980. Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of variances necessary to construct the <br />house per the attached revised plans as follows: <br />Lot Area - 34.452 13,897 sq. ft. However, <br />the plan now shows the deck to be 8* above the ground. <br />As such, I would recommend either conq>lete conformance <br />to line D-D, or with issuance of a variance to 34.201 <br />if. a hardship were to be found. <br />Council Meeting - July 28, 1980 <br />Councilmember Hannah stepped do%m from the Council table <br />due to a conflict of interest. <br />Jack Rhode and James Swenson, representing Mr. Rhode, <br />%rere present. Margaret Hannah was also present. <br />Hr. James S%«enson reviewed his clients application <br />for a variance. <br />Mayor Van Nest: The City needs an agreement of all <br />easement holders to include a protective covenant <br />and dock limitations for each easement holder in <br />their chain of title. <br />(Continued)
