MlN'jrtS OF A riA\MNG CQMISSION MEETING HELD AUGUST 1, 1977 - PAGE 5 <br />Connission also determined that if the proposed driveway <br />were to be gravel, current proposal would be under the <br />hardcover requirement. <br />There were some negative feelings on the Conmission with <br />regard to the carriage house. Members Dunlap and Hurr <br />felt that there was too much building bulk for .the size <br />of the lot and therefore the carriage house should be <br />removed. <br />Guthrie moved, Hosfield seconded, to recommend approval <br />of the application siibject to having a gravel driveway <br />in recognition of the total hardcover on the planned <br />house and existing building. , <br />Motion: 4 ayes (Hassel, McDonald, Hosfield, Guthrie) <br />2 nays (Dunlap, Hurr) <br />1 Abstain <br />Asst. Zoning Administrator e^lained that this application <br />is for filling and grading within the lakeshore area. <br />This area had been dredged one time before and has filled <br />in over the years. Applicant is requesting permission <br />to refill area so as to be level of adjacent properties <br />and level off to make lawn area. Letter from engineer <br />recommended that the area should be riprapped across the <br />^Tont prior to any filling. <br />Mr. Metz was present. He stated that he was proposing <br />to use sand or area like fill for the project. Planning <br />Conmission expressed concern about authorizing any filling <br />in the lakeshore area, but felt this would be the restoring <br />of a natural situation rather than creation of anything <br />new. <br />After some discussion, Hurr moved, Hassel seconded, to <br />recormend approval contigent on the fact that the shoreline <br />be riprapped prior to any filling and that the type of <br />fill be approved by the city engineer. Motion - Ayes (6), <br />Nays (0), Abstain (1) McDonald. <br />Planning Commission was informed that applicant had called <br />advising that they would be unable to attend this meeting. <br />M.Oe, <br />JACK RHODE <br />(continued) <br />(#210) <br />JV mc it77, <br />Their request is for a conditional use permit for the keeping <br />of a horse. Applicant owns 1.13 acres at comer of Watertown <br />and Willow and has leased the adjoining property to the north <br />which is 2.68 acres. Mr. 8 Mrs. Gonsolus, property owners <br />across Willow Drive, were present and had some objections. <br />Adjoining property a»ner Riisciano has submitted a letter of <br />no objection to the maintaining of a bam on this,property. <br />Hannah moved, Hosfield seconded, to table this application <br />until the next meeting to allow the Martin’s to be present <br />to indicate where the bam is located on this lot and the <br />length of the present lease.
