’Ordinance No. <br />Page 6 <br />38.968 Non-Conforming Fences and Walls All existing fences^^ <br />or walls which become non-conforming by adoption of this Ordinance shall <br />be permitted to remain in place after the effective date of this Ordinance, <br />but no such fence or wall shall be replaced in whole or in part except in <br />conformity with this Ordinance, except that no existing fence or wall <br />shall be permitted to remain in violation of Sections 31.500 or 38.969. <br />38.969 Hazardous Fences or Walls No fence or wall^or <br />part thereof orany attachment thereto shall be constructed of barbed <br />wire, spiked wire, broken glass or any other hazardous material, nor <br />shall any electrical current be supplied to any fence or wall, except <br />as specifically permitted herein: <br />Barbed wire fences and single strand approved <br />electrical fences may be erected and/or maintained <br />on any lot in excess of 3.0 acres gross area which <br />lot is being actively used for agricultural purposes <br />or for the keeping of farm and domestic animals in <br />compliance with other provisions of the Zoning Code. <br />Multiple strand barbed wire or other similar <br />security device designed to prohibit the climbing <br />over any fence or wall may be installed at the top <br />of any permitted fence or wall in any "B" or "I <br />District provided the fence or wall is at least <br />5.0 feet in height below the security device, and <br />the total height of the fence or wall does not <br />exceed 1.0 feet higher than the maximum height <br />otherwise permitted herein.
