I
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 284
PUBLIC
SCHOOLS
Ridgemount Junior High School
12000 Ridgemount Avenue
Plymouth, Minnesota 55441
February 20, 1981
' t
Richard Benson
Orono City Kanager
P.O. Box 66
Crystal Bay Road
Orono, Minnesota 55323
Hr. Benson:
1 have recently been Infonwd that Parkview West Is negotiating with the
Orono Planning Board for a peralt for an adolescent inpatient treataent center.
The Intent of this letter Is to lend my support to Parkview West s endeavor.
Not only an I a resident of the cosnsmlty that Parkview West serves but
an also a school counselor who has utilized the services of Parkview West.
My experience with the staff and program at Parkview West has been exceptional.
The quality of their staff and the program has been an asset to this community
and to the persons It has served. Additionally the program and staff have
been available to provide services to the community at large and to the school
systems which I believe extend beyond the ordinary.
As late as last year 1 was asked to Join the advisory board. Until that
time I had refused to Join any advisory board. 1 agreed to Join this advisory
board as I saw that their program Is designed to serve the community In a
supportive fashion and Is an asset to the community.
I believe that the addition of such a program to the Orono community
would provide a positive model for the community as well as direct service
to the needs of the comminlty and that the quality and caliber of the staff
at Parkview West could provide programs With some positive outcomes for your
community.
Sincerely,
ojuf
Gary Swedberg r
C.D. Counselor
GS/sr
. /
•krr
