Olson <br />DATE:April 14, 1982 <br />SUBJECT: Proposed Zoning Amendments - Suntanning Studios <br />On April 12, 1982, Council conceptually reviewed my March 25, <br />1982, memo and draft copy of the ordinance. <br />Their only comment to the Planning Commission is that Council <br />does not favor allowing the tanning studio conditional use <br />permit in the B-4 Office-Professional di&'trict. They felt <br />that this use with its short-time 15 minute visits would be <br />too high a traffic generator to fit into the iuLei.tion of <br />this District. Thus Council will likely omit Section 4 of <br />the proposed ordinance. <br />The practical effect of this change would be felt by Mr. <br />Theobald who was talking about a location in the new office <br />building at 3701 Shoreline Drive (B-4 zone). Note however <br />that he has not yet filed the application we had expected <br />last week, so perhaps he has changed his mind. <br />Planning Commission action and recommendations are required <br />before Council can act on this proposal.
