K <br />■m <br />■-■4 <br />r % <br />% <br />J <br />• \ <br />rsTV <br />MINUTES OP THE PLANNING COMMISSidil MEETING OF JULY 19, 1982 Page 12 <br />Ophein stated that approval of this application depended <br />on whether or ntot this issue falls under the %»etlands <br />ordinance. <br />HlNELINErtCONTr * <br />Nabusth stated that the wetlands ordinance does apply. <br />Opheim stated that it would be ecologically better to <br />keep it natural habitat - not a iretlands area. <br />NoOonald stated that 6,000 yards of dirt being excavated <br />out of there you would be ruining the natural filtration <br />process into Lake Minnetonka. <br />Kelley stated that it is a wetlands and that it should <br />be enforced under the wetlands ordinances of the City. <br />Bineline asked why they were against the wildlife Pond* <br />Re noted that ONR and MCWD approved of this why wouldn t <br />the City Council approve of this. <br />Kovegno noted the only tietlands application which was <br />approved was the Orono Schools, which was used for <br />educational purposes. <br />A poll was taken by the Planning CoimisaLon as whether <br />they thought the application could be recossaended for <br />approval. <br />Kelley felt it was a wetlands area and should be enforced <br />through the wetlands ordinances. <br />Goetten stated that this was definitely a %retlands area <br />and that excavation and alteration of wetlands is not <br />allowed. She noted that 6,000 yards was a lot of dirt <br />to be removed. <br />Opheim felt the wetlands should not be disturbed. <br />Rovegno questioned if it is a designated wetlands “ he <br />doesn't believe that these two lots are even buildable. <br />i • / »»« <br />4 <br />* <br />Bineline noted once again that the Council approved <br />of the plat in 1978 and these are officially buildable <br />lots.V- ■ <br />No Action Required <br />. • c , <br />■ 4 ■■
