In that earlier review,
was required to submit a complete signage plan for the shopping
center. It was decided that B-1 zoning standards were not feasible
for the existing shopping center use. B-3 signage allowance
standards were used in that review as a more appropriate conx*arison.
B-3 Section 39.032 Signage Allowed:
4 ef per 1 front of building > 240 sf (60* x 4 sf)
1 sf per each foot of front =» 140 sf (140* x 1 sf)
yard not used by building
Total Allowance = 380 sf
11
Signage Plan of 1980
a) Highway sign 5* x 10*
b) ID plaques 2* x 9* x 4
c) Building signage (letters 2
high, each user allowed 12*
length) 10* x 24 sf
Total existing
Allowed with B-3
Allowed with B-1
50 sf
72 sf
240 sf
= 362 sf
= 380 sf
= 200 sf
Current Application
0 Petroleum is now leasing the area once occupied by Little Oak.
The new leasee wants to install a 20* high 6' x 7* pylon sign
serve as a business identification in addition to posting
fuel prices. The single sign will replace all accessory signs
placed in the island area of the fuel pumps. Their hope is to
clean up the front lane area and limit all signage to the single
pylon sign. The proposed sign of 20* satisfies the B-1 heioht limitation (no higher than 2* above existing building 20* x 2* = 22') and
mm h.
