Orono, the 208 Study, <br />revised Metropolitan Council Water Quality Management policy Plan <br />all recommend upgrading the capacity and phosphorus removal <br />equipment in the existing plant. This option is many <br />expensive than interceptor construction and will meet all Lake <br />Minnetonka discharge standards. Phosphorus concentrations reaching <br />Jennings Bay will be further reduced upon completion of the MCWD <br />Painter Creek Upper Watershed Retention project, inflow ano <br />infiltration control in Maple Plain will further improve plint <br />function and discharge standarde. Finally if necessary. Maple <br />pl^ln WWTP discharge could be redirected to the Crow River <br />vstershed where discharge standards are lower, and where most <br />of the sewer flow originates in the first place. <br />CMP 6-17 <br />U <br />I
