H <br />o <br /># <br />MINUTES OF THE MARINA COMMITTEE MEETING OF APRIL 7, 1982 <br />The Marina Conunittee met on the above date. The following <br />members were present: Chairman Hurr and Goetten, Mabusth <br />represented the City staff. <br />ATTENDANCE <br />4:30 PM <br />Steve Pauly and Dennis Keating were present for Chaska <br />Marina's 1982 commercial dock license application review. <br />CHASKA MARINA <br />Keating reviewed the dock layout planned tor the 1982 season <br />designating a total 74 slips, a drop of 3 siips from last <br />years license. This will afford 68 rental slips and 6 <br />service slips. The new dock configuration will improve <br />the minimal side setbacks along the west iof the dock <br />structure. There will be an increase of approximately <br />10'+ allowing for a wider approach channel to the marina <br />and moving the boats away from the front of the Kane <br />property. <br />The committee has asked for written confirmation by the <br />east property owner, Rita Straley, approving encroachment <br />of slips 22 and 34 (per new plan) for this season. The <br />applicants stated that they had such written confirmation <br />and would submit a copy of that letter to the City. <br />'f <br />The Marina Committee reviewed the site plan submitted at <br />the meeting noting, the service areas, used boat sales area <br />and the required parking stalls. The committee found no <br />problems with the proposed use of the site. <br />Hurr asked the applicants to review any landscaping <br />improvements proposed for this season. Keating stated <br />that the shoreline would be rip rapped and that after an <br />evaluation of the planting along the east lot line is <br />made that they would either replant or place additional <br />plantings. <br />The Marina Committee advised the applicants that this <br />year the committee plans to make a site inspection at <br />each Marina to review the existing landscaping. <br />A second boat head pump will be installed at the fuel <br />dock by June 1, 1982. The original head pump will remain <br />at the shoreline service slips for staff use only and not <br />to be used by the public. <br />Hurr moved to approve a 1982 commercial dock license fo <br />the Chaska Marina subject to the following conditions: <br />1 - Applicant submit copy of recent Straley letter <br />approving the side setback area for slips 22 & 34. <br />2 - Applicants obtain required permits from the MCWD <br />and the DNR for rip rap of shoreline. <br />3 - Applicant obtain required permits from the City <br />for installation of boat head pump at fuel dock. <br />Goetten seconded. Vote: Ayes (2), Nays (0).
