It has called a public hearing for 7:00 p.m., August 16, : 376, M'^tro poll tan <br />Council Offices, 300 Metro Square, St. Paul for this purpose. <br />The document contains four sections, and depending cn your interest, you can obtain <br />the complete document or parts of it free of charge by call .ng the Council’s Public <br />Information Office at 291-6464. Please request only those sections you feel you need. <br />Section I reviews the characteristics of housing in the region and describes the nur.oer <br />of units affordable by low or moderate income people. It -estimates housr.ng needs—cost <br />size, and subsidized units—and estabhsiie^ numerical <br />Section II contains the regional policies for meeting area ncusir/j needs. It covers a <br />wide range of policy questions. <br />Section ni describes proposed regional distribution and allocation plans for new housing. <br />It proposes the "fair share" of subsidized housing units for -ach *;ofr.munity between <br />1975 and 1985, and the number likely to be funded by .'nutucipality over the next three <br />year period. It also leys out the share and dollar amount the Council viil be re comm end-.r^ <br />that each community receive from the state rehabilitation loan end grant program. <br />Section IV is the implementation program* and proposes the "how" o: carrying out the <br />plan and the groups that should be involved. It also proposes the Council's housing <br />review guidelines it would use to review housing-related plans and projects. <br />We encourage you to register in advance if you are *planni.ng to address the Council at <br />the hearing by calling 291-6482.
