MihjLcti <br />June 3, 1976 <br />#131 <br />Stewart Perry - 2975 Casco Pt. Rd. <br />Mr. Perry has already completed extensive grading and terracing within <br />75 ^ Lake Minnetonka. A "stop Work" order was issued inmediately after <br />wa becM aware of rhe project. All of the upper sections of the tie <br />seawall along the lakeshore has <br />not bm filled, however. The ties used are treated and would definitely <br />contribute to the pollution of the water in Lake Minnetonka. In the past <br />exception of the one natal seawall, always insisted on <br />5 along the shoreline. The treated ties used for terracing <br />would probably have less effect on the water quality but may contribute <br />soneiaiat to pollition through runoff. <br />Mr. Perry had aiso proposed to do some planting in and along the terraced <br />areas. I suggested he postpone this until the terracing matter was resolved. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING - June 8, 1976 <br />RecoBBMnded following: <br />lanedlate (within 30 days) removal of the creosoted tie seawall. <br />2) Replacement of the seawall with approved stone rip rap. <br />3) Approval of the terracing subject to approval of the other agencies <br />involved. <br />OCXJNCIL MR£TING - June 14, 1976 <br />Notify applicant by mail that newly installed seawall of creosoted tiidser <br />contributes to pollution of Lake Minnetonka and should therefore be removed <br />M replaced with approved riprap material (boulders). He should also be <br />instnicted to follow procedures for submitting application for riprap with <br />the City of Orono as well as the D.N.R,, the Watershed District and the <br />Aimy Corps of Engineers. <br />The Coimcil also instructed staff to withhold issuing a citation for <br />>^olation of the ordinance if the application for riprap is submitted before June 29, 1976. <br />jv i« WM
