CITY OF ORONO, I^INNESOTA <br />REGULAR FLAWING (XMflSSICN MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 20, 1976 <br />m <br />Hie Orcno Planning Comnission met on the above date with the <br />Q^rwon^ Dinlap announced that this was the time and place <br />»r a p^lic hearing on the petition of Holiday Station <br />«ores for a conditional use permit and variance at 3340 <br />^reliro Dr^ to constnict one of their Station Stores. <br />™ toing Administrator presented the Notice of PtOilic <br />Hearing and the Affadavit of PUblicatirn. <br />Bia^ey Steinman of Holiday Station Stores was present. He <br />si*mitted a copy of the site plan and stated that the double------------------- CUM Uliat UW <br />access proposal had been approved by the County. The pro <br />posed plan indicates there would be two access points to <br />wis station fiom Gomty Road 15. Mr. Steinman felt that <br />because there are three stations at this intersection <br />alre^ Holiday should be granted this conditional use <br />l^mdt. The Zonwg Adninistrator eiqplained that the request <br />for a third station constituted a variance and had no bear-^ ------------- ~ AAMDWW QUIU JACAU AAV i/wtt <br />mg on conditional use pemiit deteimination. Conditional <br />V w pennit approvals are subject to the conditions set <br />forth m Section 32.460 of our Zoning Ordinance. <br />The Planning Commission was concerned about the traffic <br />probleais that could result at the intersection of County <br />Road 15 and 19. Traffic studies indicate that a great <br />TOTtion of this traffic would be coating to the station <br />from the northern part of Orono. This would mean that <br />traffic would be turning left on to Couity Road 15 and <br />then left into the station. The public hearing was closed at 7:40 p.m. <br />0h <br />Chairwoman Dunlap announced the opening of a public hearing <br />regarding the petition of Tom Ifyan for a subdivision of <br />property located at 1060 Tonkawa Road. The Zoning Adninis- <br />trator presented Ae Notice of Public Hearing and the <br />Affadavit of Publication. Mr. Ryan is requesting approval <br />to subdivi^ this parcel into two lakeshore lots. The <br />Zoning Administrator stated that consideration should be <br />given to stoxm water nnoff. Tom Ifyan and Attorney <br />Douglas Carney came forward to review the proposal with <br />the Comnission and the Public. Mr. Carney told the <br />Planning Comnission that there is a ditch running from <br />Ae ponding area to the lake. Mr. Ryan was asked what <br />he planned to do with the dirt that was stored on this <br />property.
